POST DOOM ROMANCE
For our May 25th performance we will be presenting new material using processed cello and synths, We are currently working on a new l.p. and hope to be able to play with the room acoustics to present meditative, drone based, improvisation.
What Mykel Boyd and seah (Chelsea Heikes) have in common when forming their collaborative artist group, post doom romance, is a keen eye and ear for textures. In both sound and image, we have been solo artists working both in the music industry and the fine arts world. Together, we produce sound, video, and still image compositions that are sensitively layered and textural. Our aesthetic is such that we do not heavy-handedly depict. Rather, we ruminate together in the feeling space of both literary and physical spaces, building our aural and visual language through subtle layering of manipulated field recordings. post doom romance started broadcasting a radio program called post doom romance presents morphological echo for CAMP Radio in Aulus-les-Bains, France on November 4th, 2023 which is still airing new shows currently.

WOMAN OF THE VOID
Woman of the Void is a collective of artists whose sounds stems from sensitivity and quietness, but has the ability to convey extremity and anger, depending on individual
connections to the void. Chelsea describes the music coming from the project as “Anti-Noise Noise Music”. Performing is a way to work towards uncovering an experience on what the void can entail, and what it can look, feel, and sound like.

Daniel James Burke is an improviser, composer & performer from Chicago using strings, piano, extended techniques, field recordings, synthesizer, & electronics. He has been making music since 1983 as Illusion of Safety & has recorded and performed with Olivia Block, Thomas Dimuzio, Kevin Drumm, Darin Gray, Jon Mueller, Jim O’Rourke, CHEER-ACCIDENT, and has collaborated with Shen Wei Dance Arts. Recently he has started performing original music in singer-songwriter mode, in ambient mode as Twilight Furniture, and in improv trio Interim Assassin with Chicago musicians Erik Sowa & Jeb Bishop.
